Bringing a class of students to the park has never been easier!

As a teacher, you can be the tour guide when you come to the park on a self-guided visit (without a Zoo educator). Our team will share the necessary materials prior to your visit so that you and the responsible parties accompanying their kids can easily carry out the visit through the 250-hectare park. On the other hand, we also offer guided visits for a maximum of 35 students at an additional cost.

Option 1: Self visit with teacher’s manual or Option 2: Guided visits with a maximum of 35 students

All School trips to Casela have to take place from Monday to Friday only and will have to be booked at least 72 hours in advance. It is also important to note that school trips can only be held during school terms. All requests have to be made in writing to Casela Reservations on  education@caselapark.com

The Zookeeper for a Day package presents a wonderful opportunity to the children to spend half day in the different sections of the park assisting the zookeepers. From food preparation to distribution, through the observation of animals or enrichment for their living environments, the children will experience the duties of a zookeeper and will be sensitized about the protection of biodiversity.

This enriching activity is offered to children between 8 – 14 years where they will spend the day with the park’s animal care staff. On arrival at Casela Nature Parks, you will be warmly greeted by the staff members, followed by a presentation on the park by your zookeeper host of the day. The latter will also provide you with a briefing on the day’s activities and on the essential safety rules. You will also be presented with a T -Shirt entitled “Zookeeper” which you will wear during the day and be more inspired in the shoes of a zookeeper.

As a member of the Pan-African Association of Zoos and Aquaria (PAAZA), Casela Nature Parks enjoys manifold privileged exchanges with parks and zoos across the world. True to our founding vision, we are more than ever involved in the conservation and protection of endangered plant and animal species in the Mauritian territory. The endemic garden at Casela Nature Parks caters for the livelihood of 267 adult native trees from 52 different species among which 26 are endemic to Mauritius.

Since February 2015, our park has also found a new patron in Her Royal Highness Princess Stephanie of Monaco, who is known for her involvement in elephant protection in Asia.
